Install G-String draw stops

A draw stop gives a solid wall at full draw so you anchor in the same spot every shot. We make an H-riser stop for 1980s–90s bows, a limb-mounted stop for newer bows, and spare bolts. Oneida's manuals don't cover our stops.

  • Difficulty Moderate
  • Time 30 minutes
  • For 16 Oneida models

H-riser stops: Screaming Eagle, H-250, H-500, Aero-Force, Lite Force, Tomcat, Strike Eagle, Phantom. Limb-mounted stops: Black Eagle, C.P. Osprey, Extreme Eagle, Kestrel, Phoenix, 2017+ Osprey. The Kestrel already has Oneida's PDC stop.

All how-to guides

We're still double-checking this guide against how we do it in the shop. If anything doesn't match your bow, stop and text us or call 270-318-2020.

Before you start

  • Wear safety glasses. Never dry-fire.
  • Have a helper; one person adjusts while the other holds full draw.
  • Let down slowly with your face back.
  • Never drill your bow; Oneida says it voids the warranty and creates safety problems.

Steps

  1. Confirm the right stop: H-riser for 1980s–90s bows, limb-mounted for Black Eagle and newer. Bolts are sold separately.
  2. Kestrel: set Oneida's PDC instead. A helper loosens the opposite-side Allen screw while you hold anchor, turns the PDC until its nylon screw touches the cam and snugs it; let down and tighten.
  3. Ask us whether to take weight off before mounting.
  4. Mount the bracket where our product photos show, using the supplied bolts.
  5. Have your helper adjust the stop bolt at full draw until it just touches, hands clear of the string and limbs; let down and lock it.
  6. Draw slowly several times and check the stop hits squarely and doesn't touch the string or cables.
  7. Check the stop bolts before each outing.

Tips

  • The H-riser stops work with a limb-driven rest. (G-String product page)
  • Stealth: Oneida says a vibrating nylon-tipped stop should be swapped for a steel set screw with nylon insert. Call us for Stealth parts. (Stealth Eagle Instructions p.7)
