Change draw length: 1990s Oneidas (Veri-Eze modules)

From 1990 on, Oneida's pylon bows set draw length and let-off with numbered Veri-Eze modules in each cam. Swapping them takes one small Allen wrench. Both cams must always get the same module.

  • Difficulty Moderate
  • Time 15–30 minutes
  • For 10 Oneida models

Veri-Eze cams arrived in 1990. The H-250, H-500 and Screaming Eagle have older cams; call us about those.

All how-to guides

We're still double-checking this guide against how we do it in the shop. If anything doesn't match your bow, stop and text us or call 270-318-2020.

Before you start

  • Measure your draw length: draw a full-length arrow to anchor, have a helper mark it at the front of the riser, let down and measure nock to mark.
  • Find the module number for your draw length and let-off on your model chart.
  • Each size covers about 3 in of draw. Oneida shipped 65% and 50% let-off sets (40% optional, 80% on the 1993 chart); Tomcat and Tomcat II came with 65% only.
  • Never change draw length with a different-length string.
  • Wear safety glasses. Never dry-fire.

Steps

  1. Swap modules with full weight on; Oneida's catalogs say you don't need to back the weight off.
  2. Loosen the module set screw on the side of the cam with a 3/32 in Allen.
  3. Press the same wrench down on the front of the module between the power cables (Fig. 8) so the back tips up, and lift it out.
  4. Never pry up on the back of the module; it can snap.
  5. Press the new module firmly into the pocket and hold it while you tighten the set screw.
  6. Fit the SAME numbered module in the other cam.
  7. Never draw the bow unless both modules are fully seated.
  8. Check brace height against the range for your new draw length.

Tips

  • If a cam axle has been out, its relief slot must line up with the module pocket or the module can break. (Dealer Instructions p.24)
  • Re-check arrow flight afterward with 'Tune your arrow flight'.
