Care and safety

Lube and care: Stealth Eagle

The Stealth was built to need almost no lube. Oil the stainless hinge pins now and then, keep the timing cable under the grip greased, and leave the bearings and limb rockers alone.

Stealth Eagle only; nearly every part differs from other Oneidas.

All how-to guides

We're still double-checking this guide against how we do it in the shop. If anything doesn't match your bow, stop and text us or call 270-318-2020.

Before you start

  • The hinge pins are stainless; never fit a black steel pin from another Oneida.
  • Leave all adhesive pads on the end caps and saddles in place.

Steps

  1. Put a light drop of oil on each stainless hinge pin now and then.
  2. Wipe off the extra oil.
  3. Replace a lost hinge pin only with the Stealth's stainless pin.
  4. Grease the timing cable where it runs under the grip, especially while new.
  5. Let us do it if the grip has to come off to reach the cable, since the timing tension must be eased first.
  6. Keep all lube out from between the power limb and the rocker end cap.
  7. Leave the 3M VHB tape on the end caps and behind the saddles alone.
  8. Leave the factory-greased cam needle bearings alone in normal use.
  9. Send bearing work to a shop; Oneida called it very delicate and recommended factory service.

Tips

  • Stealth limbs look like Tomcat III or Lite Force limbs but won't swap. (Stealth Eagle Instructions p.8)
